When we founded Abbey Glass & Windows back in 1984 we chose the name of our business in tribute to the magnificent abbey which stands in Bath, Wiltshire. We aspired to build a glazing company that was as majestic as the Abbey itself.
It wasn’t long before the company expanded, and we began to increase the services we offered beyond just replacing double-glazed windows (although we still do plenty of those). The word spread as our business grew, and over the years work has poured in from a wide area across Gloucester, Wiltshire and the Avon area, including the city of Bath.
Through it all we have avoided becoming a corporate entity. We remain an independent family-run company committed to providing personal, professional service with a local flavour.
Our friendly team of glaziers and window installers are all fully trained and qualified to carry out their various roles and are extremely knowledgeable about glass and the latest advances in glass technology.
We are Assure Certified, which means we are part of an official Competent Persons Scheme sanctioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for the replacement of windows, roof windows, roof lights and doors in England and Wales.
This means you can depend on us to be reliable, and you’ll have peace of mind knowing that when we deliver our services they have to meet certain assessed standards and quality criteria.
Most important of all our Assure certification means our installations are legal and comply with Building Regulations, and you’ll receive a certificate to prove it.
In recent years we have responded to demand in our area of operation and become specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke roof lights and lanterns. These attractive features are particularly popular for topping off home extensions and new builds, adding value and contemporary aesthetic appeal to any property.
We also work closely with local joiners and builders who fabricate their own windows and doors, utilising our glass processing service.
Our wide range of residential and commercial glass installation and glazing services – described in detail here on our website – are available directly to home-owners as well as to builders and developers on a contract basis.
