When we think of glass in our homes, all thoughts turn to windows. They are the portals which let in light and air, and generally stop us feeling like cave dwellers. Believe it or not plate glass windows were only mass produced from the mid-19^th century, and the fine quality float glass we’re used to today has only been around since the 1950s.

We all know now that though windows let in light, they also let out much of the heat we generate in our homes, so double-glazed window units are essential to stop this happening. 

Abbey Glass & Windows was founded in 1984 as a family business in Wiltshire, and since then our most important residential work has been replacing many hundreds of single-glazed windows in all sorts of houses with modern, energy-efficient uPVC double-glazed windows. We continually work on window replacements in many older homes across Bath, Wiltshire and south Gloucestershire.
